Work-Life Recharge 54 – How About a Year Without the Excuses?

Happy New Year! It’s that time of the year where we begin, in earnest it seems, to set those goals – to improve health, finances, relationships, and career – that will make the coming year our best yet.

I don’t disagree with the goals at all … it’s what comes next that gets me riled up. Inaction. So how about this year we get rid of the excuses and just do the freakin’ work?

This video is a classic of mine with a message that endures. It’s a great start-of-the-year kick in the aspirations that I hope will provide some perspective for what’s next. If 2018 is actually your year, then let’s get to work friend.

I don’t have enough time.

I’ve got too many other things I need to do.

I need to eat first.

I just ate.

I have no energy.

My back hurts. My foot hurts. My shoulder hurts. My finger hurts.

I’ve got about a gazillion other things I’d rather do.

I need coffee. I need to wash my hair. I have to wash my car. I need to wash the dog.

Why so much pressure?

Too warm, too cold, when hell freezes over, soon, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year…

How about never? Is never good enough for you?

I tried it once. I won’t like it. Don’t like it. I know I will hate it.

I’m too tired. It scares me. I’m not smart enough. I don’t have the right outfit.

I’ll get to it on Monday. I don’t like Mondays. I hate Mondays!

I can’t, I’m an Aries.

It’s not me, it’s you.

No motivation. resolutions don’t work.

I don’t have the time. Too tall. Too late. Me?

Seriously! Never.

Whatever.

STOP! Are you going to let those same tired excuses keep following you through another year? What do you really want for yourself: better health, weight loss, a happier relationship, career growth? It’s yours for the taking. So this year, resolve to do it differently. Leave those excuses behind and make this YOUR year.

Believing you can. It’s just one more way for you to get Energy Now!
