“Dot your working life with islands of leisure time, schedule time to work on the priorities in your life, interact with people on a daily basis and spend more time living the present and less time pursuing the future.”
~ Harold Taylor

That’s why it’s called work-life balance. To remind us to work on the life part too. And as you read this I’m off walking my talk (or rather, kayaking it) in the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia with my husband and some friends. AWESOME! And I expect to return refreshed and energized, and ready to get back to work.

Life balance is good for you, so carve out time in the remaining weeks of summer for a bit more leisure, fun and social connections. It will energize you and enhance your productivity in everything you do on and off the job. And truthfully … when winter hits once again what are the chances any of us is going to say, “Geez, I wish I had worked more this summer!”  I didn’t think so.

When you embrace the energy habits of high-performing people you show up as a leader and strive for success in all you do. You take on bigger challenges, and better manage stress. You find ways to take care of your energy – mind, body and spirit – no matter what is coming at you. You feel great about yourself and your capabilities. What’s possible from there?
