Thanks Kim. I LOVE IT! I believe we're all imperfect and the authenticity that comes from admitting that goes so much further than trying to pretend that you've got it all together 100% of the time.

I laughed when I read your examples. What's your blog? Maybe it will help me get more organized?

:)

Absolutely it is a good idea to make yourself relateable, self-deprecating and real. Your appeal and charisma as a writer and speaker comes from this. The best learning comes from trial and error and the "been there, done that." It's your vulnerability and willingess to let us in that makes you so likeable as a writer.

I am a professional organizer and write a weekly column and deal with this very issue. I have an innate love of order and organization but as a busy mom struggle just like everyone else to find balance, order, harmony and (dare I say it) organization in my life. We have mircowave popcorn for supper some nights, I look for the glasses on top of my head, my youngest daughter wore flip flops to school last week when it snowed. Do I share these things with my readers and clients. Absolutely. I too am the "imperfect expert" and I've yet to know someone who is the perfect one (or like those who try to come off as such)
Have heard you speak and very much enjoyed your presentations and posts. Keep it coming from the heart. I can feel the authenticity.
