You raise some great points Anne. I particularly like what you wrote about "living to live versus living to retire". A lot of people get a great deal of satisfaction out of the work they do (myself included) and if we have the freedom to choose, who says retirement is the best option for everyone!

Michelle..I enjoyed your talk at U of L and I enjoy the information on your site. Re the article on Boomers not retiring...well many can't...many don't want to...and many still very much enjoy the stimulous of the work they do. For me...my parents passed away before retirement...lived to retire..dreamed of what that might be and died before they could even enjoy it...my X's parents pretty much even more so...stashed it all away for their retirement..wouldn't even share it with their own kids and had way more in the kitty than their kids could have imagined...and they didn't live as they should have lived, savouring the times with their family across the miles because they refused to spend a penny of their retirement money. So from those experiences there are some folks like myself who live to live verus living to retire for it is the living in life and not the retiring of life that is so important.

Food for thought!!! Wishing you well!

Kindest Regards
